GICHI-gami gathering

On Saturday, September 28th, 2019, hundreds of people from across the Midwest gathered on the shores of Gichi-gami -- Lake Superior -- to stand up against the proposed Enbridge Line 3 tar sands pipeline.

Enbridge’s Line 3 project would pump tar sands--the world’s dirtiest oil--from Canada to Superior WI, crossing Ojibwe treaty land, wild rice lakes, and the headwaters of the Mississippi River. It would have the climate change impact of 50 coal power plants.

For this event, I made graphics, designed the event website and helped silkscreen many banners for use in the march.

Seeing this many people carry and wear my design at an event like this was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
